UPDATES FROM OUR PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Here is an overview of the main projects and amazing initiatives Angelia has been working on recently:

  1. Collaborating with the MAHC Committee to craft the base of the Hot Springs Association's MAHC position paper.

  2. Working on lightning protocols, ADA procedures and audits, and parasites that affect the waters of hot springs facilities and resorts.

  3. Researching WHO and CDC information on monkeypox. A message regarding how to lower the risk of onsite viral transmission has been sent to all HSA members, as well as highlighted on the HSA website.

  4. Reaching out to academic and business experts, both domestically and abroad, to discuss educational initiatives and plan business exchange and networking opportunities.

  5. Working on the Hot Springs Association's forums that are listed on the website under the "Resource" section. Please join us and contribute to the continued growth of our industry!

If you have any questions, recommendations or comments, please do not hesitate to let us know!

REFERENCE MATERIAL ON WATERBORNE DISEASES

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), warm or hot bodies of freshwater can serve as breeding grounds for dangerous parasites. The goal of the Hot Springs Association is to increase awareness of these risks so both guests and staff can have a safer experience at hot springs properties. Read the information on two waterborne diseases highlighted in the document linked below.

Then, please let us know what you are doing to test for these two parasites, as well as the steps you are taking to inform guests of potential risks.

LAST CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WATER AND WELLNESS SURVEY

The Hot Springs Association advocates for a holistic approach to wellness through hydrothermal springs. Our mission is to unify and elevate the hot springs resort and spa industry globally, which starts with an understanding of the existing services offered to guests.

We would appreciate if you could take a few minutes and complete the following questionnaire. This will give us a clearer picture of how we can better assist you. Thank you.
