There is one line about water transmission on the CDC website.

"Can the COVID-19 virus spread through pools and hot tubs? Can the COVID-19 virus spread through pools and hot tubs? Can the COVID-19 virus spread through pools and hot tubs?

Are there any updates available about water transmission? It appears that portion was removed from prior link? Thanks

    Hi Cyndi,

If you click on the link and open up the water section of the page, there are a few questions underneath. One question states, "Can the virus that causes COVID-19 spread through pools, hot tubs, spas, and water playgrounds?" and the answer on water transmission appears once you click on the + button. The answer states, "There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. Additionally, proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection of the water (with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus. However, chlorinated water alone should not be used as a surface disinfectant. CDC recommends use of EPA-registered household disinfectantsexternal icon to disinfect surfaces. Follow the instructions on the label to ensure safe and effective use of the product."

    Thanks for reading!
